The DOMEX Tactical Training 3-Month DEA PTA Preparation Program is designed to help aspiring Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agents physically prepare for test-day performance, not generic fitness goals. Whether you’re approaching your first PTA attempt or retesting with higher expectations, this program delivers focused, structured preparation.
This comprehensive, three-month training regimen walks you step-by-step through each phase of PTA preparation, so you know exactly what to train, how to train, and why it matters — all aligned with official DEA standards. The program focuses on every tested PTA event:
Resistance training is incorporated to improve muscular endurance, sprint capacity, and aerobic conditioning, while maintaining focus on PTA performance.
DOMEX Tactical Training supports DEA and federal law enforcement candidates nationwide, with a clear understanding of DEA physical task standards and the demands placed on Special Agent applicants.
Built to support independent training, this program reflects the realities of Southwest training conditions and prepares candidates who may not have access to in-person coaching. The focus is disciplined, test-specific preparation — not shortcuts — aligned with official DEA Physical Task Assessment expectations.
The Training Foundation phase sets you up for DEA PTA success. You’ll learn proper form, understand the key energy systems, and establish your baseline fitness through an initial self-assessment, while strategically managing recovery to prevent injury. The program also includes optional resistance training guidance to build strength safely. Each subsequent mesocycle builds on this foundation, progressively preparing you for test day
We have designed this program for anyone committed to improving their physical performance and preparing specifically for the DEA PTA or similar law enforcement fitness tests. Whether you’re a DEA applicant, a federal law enforcement candidate, a police or fire applicant, or simply want to boost your running, strength, and endurance, this program provides structured guidance to help you achieve your goals.
The program runs for 12 weeks, structured into three progressive mesocycles.
Basic fitness is recommended, but the program includes self-assessment to guide progression.
This is a self-guided program designed to provide structured, professional-level programming.
While designed for DEA PTA standards, it also applies to police and fire candidates with similar tests.
Minimal equipment is needed, with optional resistance training included.
Dan has always eagerly provided us with the answers. Dan has always provided the scientific backed evidence to corroborate the information that he has given to us. He passionately loves educating and coaching strength and conditioning to tactical athletes and furthermore, he is extremely devoted to the law enforcement community because he personally knows the requirements which produces targeted results based upon his several years as a tactical athlete himself.
Training by my own design without Coach Dan, I would have run myself into the ground. Coach Dan was able to alter my workouts on the spot with no advanced notice so that I stayed healthy and conditioned. Other times, he identified problems I was not aware of and then helped me to fix those problems.
This program has opened my eyes to the importance of conditioning and body weight exercises which are critical to the PT Test. I have seen an improvement in my overall strength and an increase in my endurance.
